Our Story: How It Began and How It Continues
Fubao was born on my birthday, so we’ve shared something special from the very start. She’s my little girl: clever, adorable, and so beautiful I can never take enough pictures of her. Loving her has taught me how much of a life we can share without saying a word.
To celebrate her first 100 days, I wanted to give her something made just for her. That’s what led me to pick up a crochet hook and make her a little scarf. Working on it gave me a way to put all that love into something she could wear. That small gift became the beginning of Knit for Paws.
I kept coming back to crochet. I loved the feel of the yarn, the quiet rhythm of each stitch, and the satisfaction of turning an idea into something I could hold. Making things for Fubao became another way to feel close to her. More than anything, I wish her a long, healthy, happy life, with plenty of birthdays and everyday moments for us to share.
That first scarf has since inspired all kinds of ideas, from playful crochet bags to cozy accessories for pets. I love pieces with a little personality, whether you’re choosing one for yourself or wrapping it up for someone special. Fubao is still my little muse, and the love I have for her is behind it all. My hope is that something that began with her can bring a little joy into your life, too.

I haven’t built Knit for Paws alone. Along the way, three friends have become part of its story—one I met in middle school, one in high school, and one in college. We met at different stages of life, but a shared love of animals and the natural world brought us closer and eventually led us to work together.
We each bring our own perspective, but we find joy in many of the same things: time outdoors, the company of animals, and the little moments that make an ordinary day feel special. Those shared joys shape the spirit of Knit for Paws and the ideas we bring to it.
For me, building this brand with people who understand that love makes it all the more meaningful. What began with Fubao continues to grow through friendship, creativity, and the hope of making something that brings a little joy to others.
